Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu 5D/4N


Day 1: Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa (A) (C):

Pick up from hotel (6:00 am approx.) we will take the bus towards the town of Mollepata about 2.5 hours to reach the town have breakfast (not included) then continue by car to get to Cruz Pata to kick off our walk 2-3 hours, up to Saylla Pata where we will serve the lunch, after that we will have time to rest and continue our trek toward Soraypampa (3,850 m) in this part of the road will be on the front of the first snow called Humantay . Then we will be around 5pm. Approx. at our first camp where our chef will be waiting with some hot tea. After a brief rest in the camp have dinner.

Day 2: Soraypampa - Chaullay (D) (A) (C)

Early in the morning we leave our camp after breakfast to continue our trek ton Salkantay (4,540 m) which is the highest point along the route for about four hours climb this first step where we will have a short break to take the breathtaking view from this point. Along the way we will find several gorup of stones called Apachetas. After approximately one hour descend for lunch and then continue walking for about 3 hours. up to Chaullay where is our second camp. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3 : Chaullay - The Beach ( sawayaco ) - Santa Teresa ( D ) (A ) ( C ):

After our breakfast we depart from Chaullay at 7:00 am. approx. to continue our walk towards Collcapampa with narrow trails with abundant flora and the different types of orchids and waterfalls to be seen all the way . After 5 hours of walking finally arrive at Sawayaco called also the beach where we will take a car towards Santa Teresa town that is located 1,645 meters above sea level approximately 45 minutes we will be in Santa Teresa around 3.00 pm where we will settle . After a short break we will go to the medicinal baths (not included) that is located at 4.5 km approx . Santa Teresa . Dinner and overnight.

Day 4 : Santa Teresa - Hydroelectric - Aguas Calientes ( D ) (A ):

At 8:00 am Approx . in the morning after breakfast we will take our car for about 30 minutes to reach Hydroelectric, then we continue walking about 2 hours to get to Aguas Calientes.
Arriving hot water will settle into your room and arrange the next day's ascent to the city of Machu Picchu.

Day 5 : Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco (B ) :

Very early in the morning ( 5:30 am ) we have breakfast then we'll take the first bus up to Machu Picchu for 30 minutes. Then we have our guided tour for about 2 hours where your guide will take you through the most important citadel after our visit we will have the whole afternoon free to take pictures and go on our own in Machupicchu ( the train time depends of the train schedule you have to be half an hour before at the train station ) , the other option is to climb to Huayna Picchu (not included ) to appreciate the magnificent views over the citadel. Finally we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes and then go to the station and wait for our train to take us back to the town of Ollantaytambo and then bus to Cusco where we will be approximately 11:30 pm.
